Synopsis: A small realization on Aoi's part whilst trying to (unsuccessfully) build a sandcastle.
Comments: It's my first time with this pairing, but I figured I'd give it a shot for the Aoi/Ruki lovers.
“You’re so lame, Aoi,” Ruki laughed, watching as Aoi built a sandcastle to no avail. “You’re too close to the water. You’re never going to build anything in this high tide.”
“Cram it, Ruki,” Aoi replied, concentrating solely on the sandcastle in front of him, the one Aoi had built solely by hand. The side of the castle closest to the water was melting with every wave, but Aoi refused to start anew in another spot and give Ruki the satisfaction in knowing that he had built his sandcastle to close to the water. Ruki had warned him earlier and Aoi regretted not taking it, though at the time, the water hadn’t been nearly as high up as it was now.
Ruki laughed and walked over from the dry side of the beach to the wet side where Aoi was. He didn’t sit down or kneel, not wanting to get wet sand over his legs or swim trunks, but instead found himself content to watch Aoi.
“God dammit,” Aoi swore once more when more water came and carried away his half-done sandcastle.
“Just give up, Aoi. We can come back some other time for you to start over,” Ruki reasoned, walking over to where Aoi lay sitting, in defeat, upon the sand. Ruki walked behind Aoi to drape his arms across the others chest, finally kneeling in the wet sand to hug Aoi from behind.
“Mm, Ruki,” Aoi sighed, leaning back into the others embrace.
“Aoi,” Ruki breathed back, his eyes drifting from the side of Aoi’s face to the sunset on the ocean’s horizon.
“Hey, Ruki?” Aoi said, yawning at the same time as he pulled from Ruki’s grasp, twisting around to stare into Ruki’s eyes.
“Yes?” Ruki responded, staring back uneasily, that look so familiar in Aoi’s eyes.
“Finish the sandcastle with me. Right now.” Aoi gestured to the demolished pile.
“Lame,” Ruki murmured, unable to resist Aoi’s pleading, seductive eyes. He sighed, caving in. He made himself comfortable on a spot directly across from Aoi, the only thing dividing them being a pile of sand.
“Too bad you’re stuck with me,” Aoi teased, placing his hands on the pile of sand to lean over and kiss Ruki.
He’d successfully contributed in destroying his work of art, but when Ruki leaned forward and into their kiss, Aoi reasoned that he’d willingly do it again.

I hope this was alright for the people who are Aoi/Ruki fans, for this was my first shot with this pairing. It's sort of how I imagine they would act. I almost made them more fluffy, but then.. I went for more realistic, haha. :)
