Synopsis: "Do you think it's stupid to hope?"
“Do you think it’s stupid to hope?” Uruha asked Aoi as they sat around a nearby deserted lake. There was another couple or two on the other side, but it was relatively abandoned. Peace and quite was how Aoi and Uruha liked their days; loud and rambunctious was how they preferred their nights.
“No,” Aoi said above a book in his lap, one hand holding up the book and another keeping his body propped up, resting on a picnic blanket Uruha had set beneath them.
“My father used to tell me that it was,” Uruha said aloud, watching as a few ducks landed in the lake, looking more than content.
“Why would he say a thing like that?” Aoi questioned, placing a bookmark on his page so as not to lose his spot. He didn’t close the book, but instead stared at Uruha, sensing the other was at least going somewhere with his words.
“Do you have any hopes, Aoi?” Uruha plucked some grass while asking his question, ignoring Aoi’s.
“Sure,” Aoi responded, caving and closing his book. He set it down on the blanket, staring up at the clear sky. “For lots of things.”
“Like what?”
“I hope...” Aoi started, then thought for a moment. “I hope that you and I will be together for a long, long time. I hope Gazette doesn’t break up soon, and I certainly hope that we all stay friends when Gazette does decided to disband."
“Those are good things to hope for,” Uruha agreed.
“Most hopes are, aren’t they? Or do you hope for bad things?” Aoi teased.
“I wish...” Uruha climbed over Aoi’s book to reside in Aoi’s lap. “I wish that you’d sweep me off my feet and take me somewhere romantic.”
“I did that last weekend,” Aoi laughed. “We went to the beach and I had everything set up for you...”
“Well, I can hope for something else, can’t I?” Uruha replied, pouting.
“No,” Aoi dismissed.
“God dammit,” Uruha swore, and Aoi laughed, hugging Uruha to his chest.
Secretly, Aoi hoped Uruha would ask the same question the very next day, just so he could surprise Uruha with a ‘yes’ answer.

Not one of my best, but it was laying around in my files. I figured it couldn't hurt to post it.
